Looks like you need to upgrade to a Spohn torque arm or another aftermarket piece.

You've broken other torque arms before? Same way? If so something is definately wrong. MAYBE the bolts were too tight? Those bolts need to be torqued to a certain spec and if they're too tight bad things can happen - not sure if it would cause that kind of damage though.

I've got a stocker here at the house if you'd like a quick fix until you get a good one. Let me know...

I think the torque on the bolts is like 72 ftlbs. I am fairly sure I read a bulletin about over torquing the bolts distorts the case and causes premature pinion bearing failure. If my tired old brain remembers correctly.

If you're breaking torque arms in the same location its not because the torque arm is weak, its because there is something wrong with your suspension and/or chassis. Buy a stronger aftermarket one and you may not break it but I bet something else will start breaking in place of it - Maybe something more expensive.

well for now i got another stocker this is the second time in 3 1/2 years that it has happened im gonna get the spohn or the bmr just gotta get the money together
If you keep wreckin arms why don't you just reenforce.
Box all your pressed pieces(sway bars, lower control arms, ets.) and reenforce your arm. It's under the car so no-ones gonna see it, so it don't have to be pretty. Make it bullet proof, get rid of all the play.
From what you have described of the car in your signature. It's probably braking when you're shifting or starting off. The gearing and torque that you have will of course brake stuff.

I'm thinking about getting that short BMR one that gets the torque arm off the tranny. It says it makes more noise but I wonder how much more noise it is???

Very true.
Only other cars I've driven that was even close on the rattle and creaking department is fox body mustangs.
I'm not worried about the noise if it will help with traction.
