is my suspension normal?

I've been driving my car sincce august last year and I'm wondering now that I've compared it to others, how stiff should my suspension be? It seems that if i go over a speed bump the car doesn't give at all or have that "bounch" that cars in front of my experience. I love that feeling of feeling every bump in the road and am definately not complaining about my suspension but I'm curious about whether I should have that bounce or not? is my suspension letting my car pretty much ride directly on the tires or is there just a stiff spring in there? Also, I'm guessing that this is a stock suspension, I never touched it and the guy before me didn't mention anything.

Welcome to the world of the solid rear axle. F-bodies are really good performers right out of the box suspesnion wise. They ride rough in stock trim and et worse when you "stiffen" things up with aftermarket parts. Sounds like you have the stock stuff. To varify check out the color of your springs and look at your rear suspension peices. If they are stamped steel than they are all stock. If the springs are black than chances are they are stock as well.

Springs are Black, I know that much from memory. I'll have to look at the rest of the stuff. I'm definately not complaining about the feel. I personally think it give the car more of a "sports car" feel. I hate the cars that make you feel like you're riding on a cloud.

Oh yea, these cars never feel like they are on clouds. The more you mod the suspension the more it strays from "sports car" and veers to "race car"

Can't wait till I start modding the suspension. Bet it feels good to get that "race car" feel.

The bounce is from not having proper dampening from the struts/shocks. congradulations you know own a car that works like it should.

Yup - the stiffer the better... uhhh.

Anyways - it feels bad because people don;t associate it with good suspension. That is what it is tho, good suspension. When I go over an area of road with troubled imperfections my car feels California during "the big one".

Glad to know it's all in working order. I love the feel. Too bad the girlie doesn't feel the same way, then again she's not so keen to a lot I do with the car. But I love them both. There are just some things a woman does better than a car.

Sometimes bounce is good, sometimes stiff is good... but if you dont know the diff, nevermind......
But anywayz, wasnt there a softer suspension package with at least some of these cars? Mine isnt what I would call stiff, but it doesnt bounce either; you feel the bigger bumps, but the average crack in the road isnt a problem.
