Pete Z or Russell Traction Bars
Has anyone used or have pictures of the Pete Z or Joe Russell-built traction bars for thirdgen's? I know a few of the NHRA Stock class racers are using them with great success. I would like to either purchase or make a set of my own with similar design. Anyone with pics, info, testimonials, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone? Maybe someone can help to identify these pieces that I took a picture of. I can see why information is tough to find, as these are not manufactured parts, but are individually built for a highly specialized market. But since stockers aren't allowed to use the SSM lift bars, these must be the next best thing to allow a third or fourth-gen to hook on a 30x9x15 slick.

Those are the Lakewood fall-apart "Traction Action" product. I would avoid that no matter what.
You can get better results for less money with regular replacement LCAs of your choice, and relocation brackets.
If allowed in whatever class you're running in, I'd strongly recommend a Spohn torque arm and crossmember.

Here's another type that was posted a while ago on here, I believe. I've already decided not to use the Lakewood bars. It's hard to lay down in the mud and get far enough under someone else's car to take good pics. I noticed most of the racers are already using relocation brackets, aftermarket torque arms, and aftermarket control arms, all of which are legal in Stock. However, most of the better racers were using, or recommended using the Pete Z or Russell traction bars. These racers had some of the hardest-hooking cars in the class, so the PeteZ's or the Russells must be the best of the best or these racers wouldn't be using them. I have an interest in fabricating these on my own, but I would probably pay the price if it was beyond my level. Any ideas?

QUESTION...
I have a set of SSM bars on my 89'RS that replace the lower control arms. This is NOT the kit that is welded onto the axle with a crossmember. Where did THESE come from?
And would they still be legal in the classes? being they are a control arm replacement rather than an addon?

I've never heard of bars from SSM that bolt on without welding to the rear end or the crossmember. Could you possibly snap a few pictures and post or e-mail them to me? I'm very interested. I found these ones from www.smithperformance.com. I think these could be made at home. Any one have expierience with these or anything similar?
