16x8 Firebird rims won't fit on my 3rd Gen?

I bought a set of 16x8 rims off of a 1998 Firebird, and they will not fit on my 1988 formula. The kid I bought them from had them on his 91 RS, so I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot, do they sell them at Autozone/O'Reillys?

Again thanks, I'm anxious to get them on.

I only payed 50 bucks for the firebird rims, I guess I'll stick with the GTA rims he has on there now.

Again thanks a lot for your guys help but I don't want to waste $320 just to use these wheels

& I dont think they look to good. After installed you can see them behind the rim. beter save your money & get rims that are made for 3rd gens. My opinion.

Where are you located? If you're close enough and could send me some pics I *may* be interested in them.
