9bolt to 10bolt ebrake?????

I can't find an axle shaft for my BW 9bolt, so I'm switching to a 10 bolt, with posi and disc brakes. My problem, diffrent e brake set ups. This is in an 89 firebird formula WS6. How or were do start on changing the ebrakes? Any help would be great,.

Just get the part of the parking brake cables that attaches to the rear end. It will hook right up to the part that's part of the car.

At least I think that's what you're talking about; these cars have a parking brake, not an emergency brake, whatever that would consist of.

Yeah they do at 150 for one axle and 250 for a set plus shipping and handling, plus bearings.

Sorry for not getting back to you on the axle, Doc...I just can't part with it yet. Another month, maybe.

RB's right, all you need are the correct e-brake cables. THey are no longer available from GM but they are from NAPA, P/N 94264.

I can get you a axel for a 9 bolt. My buddy has one out of a 89 Iroc that he swapped out. He bought a complete rear with 345's and swapped out his that had 277's. Which side do you need? How much are you willing to spend so I know what to offer him for his old rear?

Are you going with Delco-Moraine iron calipers on the 10-bolt?

weeeeeeeeee

I'm having fun with this dam rear end swap. The rear end I got was out of an 84 iroc. It was supposed to be out of an 91 iroc. The parking brakes on the 10 bolt are way to long to bolt up to the 9bolt setup. So i'm going to the junk yard on monday to take a look at a drom brake set up. Hopefully I can swap the parking brake brackets. And then the arm next to the drive line will not bolt up to the axle. I have an 89 firebird formula. Is there a differance between an 84 iroc arm and an 89 firebird. I thought they were all the same. Any help with this would be great.

Ummm...unless I'm way wrong, there wasn't an Iroc in '84 and definitely not one in '91. I say this in hopes that you're not getting screwed around by someone....
