Bilstiens
Bilstiens are nice, but way to expensive for me! I'm going to replace struts. What's everyones thoughts on the best bang for the buck?
Best bang for the buck are Bilstiens Structs & shocks. I still have the factory Bilstiens on my 87 IROC-Z and they are as good as the day the car left the Dealers lot. My opinion.

I've heard the KYB GR-2 struts up front and KYB Gas-A-Just shocks out back are supposed to work really well on these cars. That's why I picked up a set on these forums...couldn't beat the $115 shipped with anything else.

Best are Bilstein or Koni Yellows if you want Adj.
KYB GR2s will work fine for most people and are much cheaper.

I have the typical gas a just and GR2 KYB shock/strut setup. I lowered my car at the same time and the control just sucked until I rebuilt the steering linkage and put in a wonderbar. They feel nice and stiff, but a little too much once I start hitting bumps in the road.

Definatly Bilstiens. They're worth the cost and I think their build quality is second to none. Check out the diameter of the actual strut vs any other shock and you'll see why they have a lifetime warrenty.... it's HUGE.

Here's a comparison thread between stock struts and bilsteins that shows why I think I'm just gonna save up for the bilsteins:

also have a much better warranty with the bilsteins...koni second but they are pricey. kyb i wouldn't bother unless your selling the car and want the buyer to have good suspension for a week.
