What has happened here?
What's up? Well, me and my dad put a lot of new stuff on the front end of my '89 RS including new struts, springs, polyeurathane bushings, steering brace, polyeurathane endlink bushings, and new bushings for the sway bar. The car handles better than it did before, but that's all I can really say. After completing everything it was time to put it back on the ground. When we did the whole front end of the car looked like it had a lift kit on it. I swear, I can put one whole fist and half of the other one between the tire and the fenderwell. It really doesn't seem as stable as I thought it would be. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Loosen the bolts on the control arms that mount to the cross member, the bushings may have binded. With the car on the gound, loaded; no jacks/stands, i had to the "bounce" the front a little to resettle mine, then tighten the bolts again.

what does it mean to index the springs? Sorry, I'm only 17 yrs old, but I'm trying to learn everything I can. Please have mercy for any stupid questions.
The springs NEED to sit a certain way when you put them in. The bottom end of the spring (make sure you have them in the right way) needs to sit inward in between the two drain holes..you will see them there. Make sure the top isolator is fastened nicely to the spring or it will move off when you install it (I used lots of tape).
Lastly, make sure to tighten everything at ride height.

Hey Forshock85TA, is it safe to loosen the control arm bolts with all the weight on them? I really don't want to get hurt.

First support the front of your car car w/jacks.Then just loosen the bolts a little.Dont remove them though.Dont forget to make sure your springs are indexed. If you havent done that already. Then you may have to disconnect your ball joint or even the A-arm bolts. To index them.
