91/92 chasis refinements?

I was wondering if anyone had head that 92 camaros had some chasis refinements/changes from the 91 model, and if that statement was true? And if so what were they? I have searched but didn't come up with anything helpfull.

GM made the suspension softer for the 91-92 Z28s. Having both the harsh IROC and 92 Z28, I prefer the IROC for smooth roads and the 92 for cratered city streets. I think the earlier suspension is more accurate fir high-speed driving, but you gotta be hard-core to live with it. The 91-92s are much more civilized.
Personally, I don't consider the softer suspension an "improvement" but my wife sure does!

I remember hearing something about the materials they used to hold the chassi together being better in 92, but I can't remember specifics right now.

In 91-92 they supposedly used sound deadening material throughout the cars to help reduce squeaks and road noise.

They started using bonding agents in the unibody in addition to the spot welds.

What kind of sound deadening?? I highly doubt this is true because, maybe it's just my car, but I have already ripped most of my interior out and I can tell you it is no different in my 91 Z than it was in my 89 RS. Everything from the rear hatch forward seems to be the same. Maybe I missed something?

One thing was the adhesive used in the body panels and there was supposed to be a spray on material inside the doors, fender wells etc...I don't know that you'd be able to tell it was even on there, being a spray on it was probably pretty thin and they wouldn't want it to increase the weight of the car.

Honestly, it all looks the same to me as far as the adhesives for the body panels goes. It's the same kinda pale peach color adhesive on both cars. I have my door panels off right now as well, and I didn't see any kind of spray material anywhere. But like you said, it'd probably be pretty thin. I can tell you for sure that my 91 Z rides a ton smoother than my buddies 85 T/A, which was worlds ahead of my 89 RS in ride quality.

So if someone wants to "tame" the harsh ride of the pre-'91 Z28s, is it simply a matter of changing the springs, shocks and suspension bars to those used in the 91-92 Camaros?

That's pretty easy... Can anyone verify this with parts numbers?

I stand corrected. I went outside today, still trying to get my F*CKING Longtubes on, and while under the car, I did notice that there is some sort of sprayed on liner in the wheel wells and sort of near the subframes. It kinda looks like a really thin layer of sprayed on bedliners for trucks. The subframes are, instead of just being stitch welded together, bonded by the same stuff used to bond togethter the body panels insde the car. That would probably lead to the car being a bit "sturdier" or "smoother" than older model years.
