spring help
OK I know this has been talked about before but I can't find what im looking for exactly. My question is what springs should i get For my camaro. It has some sort of lowering spring in the back, sportlines I think, but has stock springs in the front. The car sits semi level without my subs or anything in the back area, but still sags a little. With my subs in there it is really low compared to the front. Now my other issue. I have a fiberglass hood, no smog equiptment, and alluminum heads so there is more weight off the front. My last issue with the current setup is that when i accelerate the nose goes up really high even on light acceleration; like from a stop sign driving like a normal person. What would you guys reccomend for a set of springs??
BTW this is a daily driven car and i do have to go over curbs and speedbumps every once in a while. PLEASE give me some input.

They probably are just your stock springs in the back. My car has the exact same symptoms
The front sits high compared to the back.
My solution is going to be an Eibach Pro-Kit, or something else cheaper that will lower it an inch or so from stock and give me much stiffer spring rates.
Oh, and for straight line acceleration, you want the front end to pop up

The springs are red in the back... aren't sportlines red? I was told when i bought the car that they were eibach springs. Of course I was told a few things when I bought this car that didnt seem right.
Ill have to look into the ProKit

i have the same problem with the front sitting high. my question is if u put lowering springs on the thirdgen camaro won;t u scrap the hell out of the exhaust pipe when the cat is(or should be). i know even with the stock springs i already scrape that pipe if i go over any kind of bump with any speed

Right now the only problems i have with scraping are my exhaust tips in the rear and front spoiler on really really step driveways
You could either go with a set of progressive rate springs, or a set of linear rate springs. Do a search to get more info on the differences. The front end lifting and tail pipes bottoming out might be a sign of worn struts/shocks. Do you know what condition yours are in? If they are worn, plan on doing both the dampeners and the springs at the same time (its just easier to install em both at once).

The shocks and struts look to be brand new and I was told that they were intalled before i got the car so i dont think it has to do with that. I believe they are monro durashocks. I wasnt saying that the pipes hit the ground while driveing, unless its a really step driveway, just saying that that was one of my only problems with scraping anything.

If he doesn't take them, and you can hold onto them for a few more weeks, I'll buy em. I already have Friday's paycheck spent on some C4HD brakes and car insurance
