so my car has been making a lil clicking noise when i launch hard, at first i thought it was the transmission mount but its not....today i was swerving a garbage can that was in the middle of the road when i heard a huge CLUNK, felt like the wheel was gona fly off...i jerking my wheel from left to right and it kept making this terrible noise ....i was under my car last week and i did not notice any damage ....where do you guys think i should start? , btw i noticed that the grease resevoir where the pitman rod met with the centerlink was relatively dry, would you guys think its grinding? , this noise only comes from the front driver side

Check sway bar end links and bushings. If OK, jack up car to get one front wheel off the ground and wiggle it side to side. If anything loose in steering linkage, you will see it move.

Don't forget the upper strut bearings. Both Thirdgens I've had, had these go bad.

I also heard clunking at full turn steering like in a parking lot, under hard launches, and quick steering manuevers. All things that change strut geometry.

The way that the Hayne's manual describes to do it is by either feeling the small bearing up inside the mount with your finger before you mount the strut, or by just removing the upper mount all together and giving it a visual inspection.

sorry for bumping but.if i take off the upper strut mount for visual inspection would this cause the strut to move and cause my alignment to go off?

Throw some lube into the parts that can be lubed, but ball joints pop when they get old

Yes, the caster & camber are set by the position of the upper strut mount.
