I have no clue what you are asking. Whats the biggest rim you can fit on a 16*8. I think you mean tire and i beleave people are running 275/50 16. But not positive.

a 295 might fit on a 16x8, but not worth a sh*t...the tread is gonna stick out on each side, and I doubt you'll have any sidewall strength what so ever....i started a thread abotu this a while back and got a lot of responses...i believe a 255 is the most you can go on a stock rim while maintaining decent driveability....265's is pushin it......somebody has to know for sure....

Well if you say this isn't a road course setup, sidewall strength isn't needed too much. mw66nova runs 275s on his 7" wide wheels... You shouldn't have any problems with at least that size on an 8" wide wheel.
Your main concern is, what tire shop is going to put the rubber on the rim for you? then, what will they put on it for you ? Some may be concerned about your safety etc, and might refuse to put super wide tires on.... That's probably where you want to be asking....

yea i think the original question is wrong.....89blackm is a buddy of mine, and this car is not a car just to go a quarter mile at a time...its an everyday driver...i realize you can stick a huge tire on a skinny rim, but it won't allow you to have any decent handling...correct me if i'm wrong but a 265 is the biggest you can go while maintaining stability, i would never run more than a 255 on an 8" wide rim....

Actually, 295/50/16’s specify a 8-10” rim… I wouldn’t call it optimum, but mounting them on a stock 8” rim works fine, and they should handle OK for a big, tall tire.
