can the steering knuckles be replaced

greetings everybody. i have had my 90 camaro for over a year now and have aquired some really nice upgrade parts for it. (LS1 block, 3.42 locking rear-end). anyhow, to the point. I HATE THE STOCK FRONT BRAKE SETUP!!!! So I was wondering if I could replace my current steering knuckles with the disc type. I hate having to re-pack the bearings. And when I go to buy new rotors I hate the price as well. Any tips, or deal with it? Thanks.

you have a few options, 1le, which is prolly the most expensive, c4, and ls1 (98-02) which all have 12" rotors and will fit under stock rims. you could also to c4 hds or c5 which 13" rotors, and some wheels will not clear.

you dont have to remove your spindles (its a good idea though), follow this thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ght=%2Bspindle

check out the brake board and the faq board for more info

and yes, pm ebmiller88, he can get you hubs and brakets for any of the swaps

1LE has an integral hub and rotor, which is what he's complaining about.

is it possible to upgrade the whole suspension to something where i could go to just front rotors (with no hubs)? or keep dreaming.

You don't need to change the suspension to upgrade to a hub and rotor setup. Check the recommended reading above.

ok, i do not want the hub/rotor setup. i want rotors only. there has to be a way w/o hubs. no hubs, i hate hubs.

Yes, you want a hub and rotor setup. Without a hub there's nothing to bolt the wheel to. You want a separate hub and rotor. What you don't want is an integral hub and rotor.
