Need tires
I have a set of 18x9.5 C5 wheels. I want to get 245-40-18 for the front and 275-35-18 for the rear. Is this a good tire combination? Also will the 275's be too wide in the rear and stick out past the fender lip? And are there any good tires that you guys recommend? Thanks in advance.

I'd go with a 275/40-8 in the rear. But thats me i like a taller tire in the rear. Right now your tire choice will have the larger diameter tire in the front.

275*.35=96.25mm
245*.40=98mm
So the difference in sidewall height is 1.75mm
Not much but its still a difference. Also since your putting a 245 tire on a 9.5" so the tread will be really stretched, making the sidewall even shorter. So actually it might look fine.

I say go with 275/40R18s, that's what I have. The ride is stiff and handles well, but there is no way I would go to a 35 profile on these. You won't gain any noticeable lateral grip (handling) and you'll lose even more straight-line traction.

i'm eventually going to lower my car too, prob about 1/5 inches. aren't 275-40's 26.7 inches tall? Isn't that a little too tall? Would my drop still work with that?

Your going to lower your are 1/5"? The rear of my car is lowered 1.5"-2" so it shouldn't be a problem. My front is so low, i can't get a jack of any sort under the k-member.

Also, some tires are skinnier with the same numbers.
My 275/40/17 Nittos and 275/40/17 Kumhos are Skinnier than my old 275/40/17 G-Force T/A KDW's.
