Suspensions, wheels and exhaust all in one...
So if I've read it right you don't want your car lowered with long tube headers, but 17" wheels raise you higher?
Would it look dorky if I just replaced the springs with some that are stiffer, but don't change the ride height? Wouldn't want to screw up the headers by scraping them on the ground...

What size tires do you have now?
The tire diameter for my 275/40-17s is roughly the same as my old 215/65-15 (something like that). So it didn't raise the car at all.

17" wheels will do nothing to your ride height if you choose the same height tire.
275/40/17 is the same as 245/50/16 is the same as 225/60/15.
How much are you going to lower the car and with what long tubes? Some are worse then others.

You should be OK with a Pro-kit, but remember it might not lower you much from where you're at since your stock springs are 20 years old.

Yeah, my k-member has tasted asphalt already with the really old struts on it.
I just wish I knew up front how much lower the headers are going to hang...

my hedman s-bends tend to scrape every now and then on rough bumps, but i have old motor mounts and need new springs and shocks.
Running lt's and s-bends into straight true duals and summit mufflers, I have maybe 3 inches ground clearance at most in spots, but its temporary and only cost about 50 bucks top.
i'd think w/ a stock style cat-back system and a good y-pipe, you'll be ok.
longtubes aren't all that bad...wish my s-bends were shorter though...
