subframe connectors

What connectors should I use with the hooker big block headers. I know with competition engineering they have one with stock exhaust and another that does work with stock exhaust. So what connectors would you recommend.
Thank you
Mike

unless the Y-brace might get in the way...

are those bolt in or weld, and do you think that those will work with the big block headers.

Spohn SFC's come in weld-in only. The bolt-in designs offered by many companies have a problem, eventually the sheet metal holes will elongate and make the SFC's act as a wet noodle.

You could always write them an email or call the tech line to ask about fitment. Everytime I've wrote them in the past Steve Spohn answered them.

I just installed a set of spohn SFC's on my car. I was shocked at how great the fit was. Most made to fit parts are way off, but not these.

I done it in my yard, with car on 4 drive on ramps like you buy at wal mart, a wire wheel that you can put in a drill, or die grinders, and and cheap CH flux core wire welder.

I started on them fri. about 2 pm, worked about 3 hours on them, then finished up on Sat.. About another hour to hour and a half.

If you can't use the Y brace then I say these w/o the Y will do better than most other brands. Heck most of them don't even have the Y

Here's a pic I took before I finshed up the driver's side. I bought uncoated SFC, then painted red with a can of dollar store red spray paint, bolted rear on, held front with jack, wire wheels SFC and car where I was welding, then after I got done, I painted over the welds.. BTW my welds aint pretty but they are strong lol.

Pic looks great, I really like how these look, I think I will just get them and find a way to do the exhaust and if i can use the Y its still better then nothing.
Thanks Mike

Yeah they might be no where near good welds, but for a flux core welder (splatter machine) and doing it with very little space to work, laying under a car, etc I think they are ok... I know they aint breaking loose any time soon lol. (i checked with a come-a-long), and thats all that I care about. As long as they hold, and hold tight.

I'm an ok welder if the work is out in the open, and I can stand over it and weld, but laying down with about 1/32" between my mask and the car, just don't get it.

But i'm the true DIY-er type. If I think I can do it, and make it work, then I will atleast try, before I pay somebody to do it for me
