Sway bar end link ...how tight?

I put the new shocks and springs on the rear last night. Ive noticed that the sway bar end links? i guess thats what you call them, are just kind of loose at the ends and flapping around. Should i just crank these down tight ? Bushings look old, can i just buy some generic poly bushings at advance that will be good enough ?

I've heard to tighten them to 15-17ft-lbs, but when I did mine I really just cranked down on them pretty good til they felt tight. Go to the parts store and buy some ES poly ones with 2 5/8" sleeves. Those will make a huge difference. While you're at it, buy swaybar mount bushings too. Don't worry if they don't have the perfect size in stock, there's nothing wrong with using bushings that are 2mm too small. I actually ordered them like that on purpose to try and eliminate possible "cold flow" problems.

The threads on the endlink bolt stop about 1-1 1/2" down the bolt. You should be able to run the nut down all the way until it stops for proper installation. You will feel it get harder to tighten as you run out of threads.

Yea, exactly… forget everyone’s torque specs, the shoulder is there for a reason, with the endlink tightened down the nut will be against the shoulder, and at that point you don’t really need to get it that tight (don’t strip/screw up the threads)
