2" spacer still needed with 9" wheels vs 9.5"
I am getting some ZR1 wheels and want to know if I still need the standard 2" adapter as most use wth a 9.5" rim. I don't want the rim to stick out past the fender in the front. The rear I dont car much. What shoulld I do fellas? Will a 1.5" work?
Thanks

GM ZR1 wheels, 9" wide, 40mm backspacing is what I am told. Prolly go with a smaller tire than 275 to avoid rubbing. But what spacers do I use??? Come on guys, I know someone has done this before with SUCCESS!!!

GM camaro wheels as seen on SS's from 96-99 feature 9" wide ZR1 rims. But it seems that a 2" space will do just fine. Thanks

afs wheels in canoga park have the gm mold. superior wheel used to make them for chevy.so the wheels they sell are from the actual molds www.afswheels.com 818-340-6181
I've got GM 17x9s with 2" spacers and IMO they're ideal for the application. 1.75" might tuck a little better, but may cause tire rub. I DO NOT recommend 1.5", as the wheel will likely contact the tie rod end.

Marc, thanks for the info. I would like to maybe try the 1.75" in front. I would like the front to be a little more tucked than the rears. Do you have any pics of yours upclose? I would love to check it out

HEy man, I am running Y2K wheels 18 x 9.5" on all 4 corners and I am running 2.25" in the front and i have a 99 Z rear and I have no issues with rubbing. Also, I have a set of 1.75" and 2.25" I am trying to get rid of, PM if you want them, I need to get rid of them! I believe they are the vette brakes adapters.

You can see that the fronts tuck nicely. Again, 1.75" may work, but I can tell you for sure that the 1.5" will not fit. Contact Andris Skulte from Skulte Performance for more info on the 1.75" fitment.
