Edelbrock makes an STB for the TBI cars, but it will work on carbed cars. The only problem is that it supposedly does not work with cars that have the AC compressor on the driver's side. I've heard that you can use shims or washers to compensate and make it fit. A quick search should yield the answer.

Correctomundo. Since his car is an '87 it should have the serpentine set-up with the AC compressor on the passenger side. Type in "tbi strut tower brace" in the Jegs online catalog search feature and it will come right up.

The single serpentine belt came in 1988 model year, not '87.

From what I read the Edelbrock TBI 3-point brace will fit with a little modification. From what I recall you have to notch the a/c compressor brace. The topic has been covered before. Just swap in a 88+ serpentine setup. FYI, '88 was a one-year only routing of the serpentine belt. It changed in 89-92. I didn't even notice until I compared my '88 Formula to my '90 RS. The sticker showing the correct belt routing also confirms the change in configuration. Just a 'lil trivia for you.

I'm using just a regular TPI STB on a carb setup. Instead of routing the bar over the air cleaner, just turn it 90deg and have it run infront of the carb.
