You can post pictures here as long as they are within the size limits. If they are too large, PM me your email address and I'll resize them.

thats a stock one? With missing inserts? Mines a solid stamped part.

Surprised it didnt rip the trans tailshaft mount.

Looks like time for an aftermarket

Looks like the bolts weren't tight enough.

It looks more like someone used hardware store bolts without the shoulder.

Torque arm bolts are M14 x 2 x 185, but only the last inch or so is threaded.

Wrong, the bolts were tq to spec and they were OEM that rolled off the assembly line. It also broke the 9" gear casing, and striped the splines out of the stock DS.

I now have a 3" shaft w/ a forged yoke, nodular iron case, and a jegster tq arm. Much better.

It doesn't sound like the problem was with the torque arm then.

Where the TQ arm bent it was not from the DS hitting it. How do you suggest that it was bent?

Much better peice. Although to install it right, you need to pull the front seats out and the carpet. Otherwise you can't get all 12 bolts drilled thru the tranny tunnel. Mine was also a Bit(h to line up.

But once it's in there, it performs well.

Inital install is a PITA and helps with a buddy to hold insert/hold bolts from up top so you can tighten the nuts. But on the street and at the track it works very well. Puts more hit in the tire instead of trying to lift the chasis up, if your running street tires and trying to hook them at a dragstrip with this torque arm, you will be out of luck, keep the stock unit or a longer levered torque arm for that job. If running more hp than stock and using stickies it's a great peice.

I don't know, but do you think that the torque arm failed and broke the rear end housing?

No not at all. I think the cast casing and leaving on a 2 step set at 6200rpm did that. But the tq arm still failed. I did get 3 passes befor it died though.

You have a convertor in your car that allows you to 2 step at 6200??!! That's one loose son of a gun Betcha build all kinda of heat driving that loose goose.

Would like to hear the combination pf parts that allows the convertor to go that high, namaly cubic inches, small or big block, specs on cam, times you were running with that convertor. Your leaving all kinds of ET/mph on the table if that information is even remotely accurate.
