I prefer Mineral Spirits, but I guess thats pretty much the same thing. Never tried it on aluminum before. I dont see why it would be a problem, but I dont know for sure so I'm not gonna say its safe.

Yup or brake cleaner..

Remember the drums are made of AL but they have a cast lining.

I thought that he was talking about the drums and not just AL in general...... Thats what I get for reading at work. lol

I spray on Mother's Wheel Mist (it's a wheel/brake dust cleaner). Works pretty well and it's safe.

yeah im in the priocess of restoring GTA wheels. and the foaming cleaner i bought worked great on the thigns. but theres some stuff in the creases of the outside shiny part taht i wanted to get out. so this would be an ok thing to use?....i mean i scrubbed with everythign. i jsut want the **** off

You'll probably have to strip the clearcoat to really restore the wheels. Try a search on it, lots of info.

im just restoring them so theyll last till spring. makin them look nice. not doing it neccasarily the right way. im gettin some rims in the spring. so im going to use these this winter. i just want that crap off so itll look ok.
