Rear tires that will hook?
I have an 89 IROC with the oddball 15 x 7 IROC rims on it. I need to replace the rear tires before the front (cant imagine why) and I am looking for something that will hook off the line. I dont care about rain or snow performance, I dont even really care too much about cornering. I have the Jegs torque arm, LCAs, LCA relocation brackets, boxed panyard etc. and I want something I can drive to the track on and will still hook up well when I hit the go pedal. Suggestions?
Thanks,
Roy

I'm running MT ET Streets, but you might want radials, Nitto, BFG, and MT all make killer drag radials, take your pick.

The MT DR will hook the best out of the group of drag radials but the nitto555r will last the longest and have the better street manners if you get caught in some rain.

I've yet to run them but I've seen awesome results from ET Radials on some friends cars. Just as soon as my Hoosier QTP's wear out I'll be buying a set... My QTP's are quite awesome for a street/strip car. Extremely drivable on the street I can even drive slowly (45mph and under) quite effortlessly on the street. Car dead hooks on stock suspension best of 1.69 60ft.

Sticky tire size
Shaun, after the input I was wondering the same thing and have been checking around on the net. It seems that the BFG and MT are available in either 235 or 275 sizes. I can only find the Nitto in 275 size. I think the 275 is wider than optimum for the rim. Does anybody know if any are available in a 245 or 255 size and I just havent found it yet?
Thanks

I have been putting down 1.7 sec 60ft times on BFG Drag Radials, 275/50R15 on 15x8 steel wheels. On all the east coast tracks, E town, Maple Grove, Atco, etc.
