Which Sway Bars?

I'm looking to replace the swaybars and bushings on my car. And im curious as to what size i should get. My car has Eibach Pro Kit springs, Bilstien Struts/shocks, wonderbar, Spohn SFC's, Spohn LCA's and LCA Relocation Brackets. What size would give my car a neutral-to-oversteer condition?

Would these Spohn pieces bee good?

http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1311

Or how about these Hotchkis, the front is larger but hollow

I'm a big believer in Spohn Products.

And the kit you linked says it's for the 4th gen.

Well the Spohn Desc says: "provide predictable handling (matched sizing for balanced handling)."

If you wanted to save a little $ and not get as much handling WS6 bars would be a good starting point. They can usually be snagged at a JY pretty cheap. Send them off to the local powdercoater or ship them somewhere. And no one would probably know they were OEM pieces looking at them.

Pick up a bolt kit too. I put a wonderbar on my car and it took me several days soaking the bolts to break loose. I was really afraid I would break them.

What wonderbar do you have?

The spohn swaybars don't seem to fit GM wonderbar's and I suspect they won't fit TDS wonderbars.

They also don't seem to fit 85 irocs....

Si.

ps. Not quite sure what they do fit!

Well then you cannot use the Spohn swaybars. They will probably collide. The problem is the portion of the swaybar that runs parallel with the wonderbar. The spohn bar bends forward further than the stock bars. The spohn wonderbar allows this, but causes problems with the fans, especially on dual fan systems.

I'll attach a few pics of the problems with a standard GM wonderbar. comparing a spohn swaybar with an iroc swaybar.

now here's another problem with the spohn bars.... they're too wide to fit properly on a camaro!

Here's the width comparison with an iroc bar. The difference is 1.75".

Sure, that bit can be dealt with by grinder, or spacer plates, if you're desparate to use a Spohn part.

The bit that made them useless was the width. The endlinks could be made to connect in, with a bit of hassle, but when you turn the steering from lock to lock it bashes the bar from one side to the other with the base of the strut. This is not a good idea.

Overall, you would be better getting a swaybar from another source to avoid these problems.

Si.

ps. Please don't be one of the fools that replied originally saying they don't use full lock so it'll be ok....

Well I've had really good luck with parts from Spohn and the customer service is great. they might have changed their part or you might have gotten a bad part, ill probably end up giving them a shot at it with me anyway.

The GW Steering Brace does use a larger diameter center bar, but it's design also puts that center bar farther forward, so I'm not surprised it will fit the Spohn sway bar. I sell the TDS e/t Improver Plates which are aluminum spacers. Using two sets of these between the brace and sway bar mounting brackets will solve the interference problem with that sway bar and either the GM or TDS Steering Brace.

Yeah I can. Some of the Moderators are dead-set to delete any post of Deans because they continually ban him and he pops up again. IMO leave his helpful posts, but I'm in the minority it appears.

that iroc-si's car is probably tweaked since no one else has ever had a problem mounting up spohn sway bars, other than the interference with the wonder bar, which like i said, can be fixed easy enough with a grider.

My rear sway bar from spohn actually has rubbing issues against my left rear shock....noticed it when I put the car up on jacks for the winter...kinda worries me because there's really no play to shift to the other side
