V6 Springs on a V8

I have a friend that lower his mustang by trading his v8 springs out and replacing them with v6 springs. The car was lower about 1 inch and handle better. The ride was stiff but not to bad. Has anyone done this on an third gen f-body?

there is no way it handled better, unless he went from old factory springs to new V6 units. The V6 springs are softer, therefore, w/ more weight they'll sit lower. But, because they're softer, you'll have more body roller/softer handling... many have done it. There are much better ways...

My friends car has v6 springs on his v8. If anyone sits in the back seats it rubs badly, but he also has somewhere around 29in tall tire. I dont know what it would be like with a shorter tire.

Bend Things

What do you mean by bending things? That doesn't sound good.

You spent $32 on worn-out V6 springs? I bought brand new Dropzone springs for $75 shipped. I think usually they are $75+ shipping but I got a deal on them. My car handles like crazy now, and I don't even have my front struts turned up all the way. Still needs good tires and an alignment too. Drops the front 1.75" typically and 1.5" in the rear. Lot of people say they don't like the Dropzone's because they are cheap, but they work great for me.

clocker is right man if you put those v6 springs on there you will regret it big time. id do like he says and buy some after markets and put on there. if you dont want to lower it you could find a ws6 T/A and still the sway bars and springs off of it and it will handle a lot better. it will be a rough ride with the ws6 springs. heres some advice never ever listen to what a ford driver says look at what hes driving

what is the purpose of the car? if it's for handling, then your going in the wrong direction, but if weight transfer and a lower ride height is what your after, then your doing the right thing...this is a great setup for drag racers on a budget.

V6 springs in the back for weight transfer, V8 springs in the front for the extra motor weight. It'll launch the car better, but will handle like crap in normal driving.
