Intax springs w/ hooker 2055's?
Hey guys, I just installed my hooker 2055's today, and i was thinking it was about time to throw the intrax springs on, but i had a few questions.
The stock springs i have on now are obviously shot, and the front likes to roll with the road, bounces like my girls olds 88.
I have Gr2 shocks all around, and thats helped the roll a little.
Will the Intrax springs affect ground clearance of my y pipe? Will the stiffer spring rates save me from bottoming out as much?
I just got rid of my hedman longtubes, so i have guessing, say 5 inches of clearance at the cat end of the y with the stock springs. I know the front won't drop too drastically, since the springs are worn, but I don't want to rip my y pipe off just to look cool with lowering springs.
I do want a firm, well handling ride, that doesn't bottom out. If I have to sell the intraxs and get OEM iroc shocks or something, i'd do that.
I'm running kumho 245/45/17's on slp zr1s, with GR-2 struts/ stock old shocks, and have about 2 inches of fender gap in the front.
The intrax springs have already been installed in the back, and have say a little over an inch of fendergap.
Would the effect of the lowering springs and the fender gap be different in the front since there's a lot more weight?
Sorry for the long post, just been searching through the boards and had some questions. I'd settle for the 80's stock ride height if it ment proper handling and ground clearance, but if i can save and use what i got w/o bottoming out and ruining my new 2055s and have a bit of a dropped look, I'll be happy too. Hope this all made sense.
thanks,
Brandon
