t5 torque arm outer bracket discontinued

Well I just got the bad news from Gm that the outer bracket for the t5
for the torque arm is discontinued but they still sell the inner bracket.

If I cant get this soon Ill have to torch the auto bracket and bend it maybe
or use duct tape..

Are you talking about a GM#10034259 outer bracket used '84-'90? Is it possible to swap the bracketry for the design used in the later '91-'92 manual transmission cars?

T5 torque arm bracket

10024028 and 10024025

These are the numbers I got from doing a search for the inner and outer
bracket. I have contacted Gm parts to see if there correct.
They did reply that the outer bracket is discontinued.

I dont know the answer for your question .
I am switching from auto to manual and for sure the auto bracket is no good for the T5.

So right now I am in limbo land..

Those are the numbers from the '91-'92 T5 cars. On www.gmpartsdirect.com's lookup, it still shows both. I guess you can't trust it.

I tried to order parts before from that website but wont take any of my creditcards so I ordered parts from this one.

Puritan Pontiac-Gmc/NEW GM PARTS

This is where I got the news that the outer bracket was discontinued.
Still waiting for a confirmation with the part number from puritan.

Well, I just checked and it isn't there. Must've gone to the junkyard with the old Trans Am. Good luck finding one.

I ordered the outer bracket from Puritan pats the bushing is not correct
for my setup its shaped like flat ... ?? perhaps for the 4th gen torque arm

The bracket could be usable the upper hole lines up with the inner
bracket.

Hi seeing that I am in the middle of doing a 89rs v6 and replacing the old stuff with a smallblock and 350 trans I learned something!! The b&m kit works fine the issue is really bad directions. Your factory trans outer isolator bracket will work, they just don't say that. Yes you have to tweak it a bit and buy the aftermarket inner. What they also leave out is what you have to go thru in the process. The directions are as clear as mud. I will post more with photos in the next few days.
