Rear dr side wheel popping

When I am coming to a stop I can hear and feel a popping sound coming from my dr side rear wheel. It almost sounds like pop corn, speratic popping. It does it around left hand turns or coming to a stop.I just replaced the calipers and pads and am wondering if it could be the bearings. There is no odd play in the wheel other than the usual in and out movement. It feels like it's binding a bit.It did it with the old brakes too.

Once it started doing it today I stopped opened the door and slowly let off the brake to see what it was doing and I could see the wheel "pop" when it made the noise.

It's getting bad. I'm gonna take the diff cover off and inspect the axles, carrier, and wheel bearings on friday.I just bought this rear and I've already had to replace the calipers so I hope it doesn't need a rebuild.

yowza. Yea, jack up the rear and grab the back left tire and pull it outwards, push it in, spin etc, see what you find out. Then pop off the cover and verify. Maybe the cross pin is gone...?

I've jacked it up and moved the wheel and it just moves in and out by hand which I've read is normal. My guess is that it's bad but I just can't get it to move by hand.I'm inspecting tomorrow.

The lady that bought my old 87 said that it started doing the same thing after she bought it and it was the wheel bearing so hopefully that's it.I have to do it this week as I couldn't get to it last week.
