4th gen rear
does the 4th gen rear bolt right it to the 3rd gen car and are they any stronger then a 3rd gen rear.

They are a straight bolt on - just makes the stock wheels stick out 1 1/2 inches farther in the rear. A 10 bolt rear is pretty much all the same as far as strength. There are mods that can be done to strengthen (see tech article). The advantage to the 4th gen rear is that more of them are posi, and most have rear disc brakes. I got mine for $275 from a 2000 LS1 - nice brakes and posi 3.42 gears - would have cost me 5 times that to have posi, gears, and rear disc brakes put on my stocker 2.73 peg leg drum rear.

so the rear it self is longer then the stock the posi im not worried about cause i have a mini spool and 4.10s in my stock rear i just want it to be long then the stock so my other rims will fit better
