WOW, What a difference!

Well I finished my front end rebuild with some new suspension parts, and WOW, it feels like a brand new car!

If anyone is contemplating this, DO IT! I read many posts with people saying how much of a difference it was, and until I did it myself, I didn't realize how big of a difference it really was.

I can only imagine what it would be like if I did some of the other things that I left out due to funds.

Here is what I did: New Falken Ziex 245/50/R16 tires all around, TDS Wonderbar, TDS end links all around, TDS front and rear greasable sway bar bushings, upgraded to GTA 36/24mm sway bars, front and rear energy suspension polyurethane control arm bushings, poly bushings on tie rod ends, ball joints, all new MOOG centerlink, idler arm, tir rod ends, sleeves, ball joints, KYB GR-2 front struts, KYB gas-a-just rear shocks, and prolly a couple other things I cant think of.

Some of the things I plan to do in the future, but didnt b/c of lack of funds are: IROC springs, panhard bar, strut tower brace, subframe connectors

Thanks to everyone for the direction and info.

Now on to the engine and exhaust!

Mark

Awesome to hear. How does it feel with the RS springs? I do not want to change the springs. I'm happy with the ride height and the body roll, I just think the rear feels to loose in cornering.

Nice to hear that. I just replaced my rear shocks with monroe sensa tracs, got a UMI panhard bar, and put in a poly trans mount and torque arm bushing and just that really made a difference. Haven't messedwith front suspension yet. If the rear feels too loose consider getting an aftermarket torque arm or just upgrade the bushing like i did.

The RS springs feel great. Decent ride, not too harsh, but I can definatly feel the bumps more now. I'm going to keep them for a long while. The ride height is perfect for me as well.

I agree with you on the rear end. The rear end does feel a little odd, but I dont know if it's just the solid rear end or not, considering this is really my first solid rear axle car. My 240SX and 280ZX are all independent suspension, so it's hard to compare.

Would a new panhard bar help with the feel of a loose rear end?? Or is the 24mm sway bar too large with the stock RS springs?

Its amazing what a complete suspension rebuild can do on cars that are 15 years old at the newest and most have miles on them :-)

Happy motoring.

a phb would help a little bit with handling the rear end but not very much. I dont think it matters what size the sway bar is. I dont think it matters much about what springs you have. Unless its lowered than u need all adjustable stuff to correct geometry

I think with everything added up it was close to $1000-1200.....That's including 4 new Falken Tires also and everything I listed above.

WELL worth it though!

Now on to the engine.....

Yeah, im thinking i should get them done....I wanna get rid of the t-top squeaking......

Is it fine to get the TDS bolt in ones, then drive it to a shop and have them welded in?.....then i'll at least know they are in right if it bolts up fine?

I just want a 350TPI to start building up so bad!!! Anywhere I look people are asking almost $1000 for a complete 350TPI set-up, when I could build a 300hp carbed 350 for 1200 ready to go.
