Need HELP! Car sagging on one side.
Okay I have a 89 Firebird and I noticed it was sagging on the passenger side. If I measure it is about a 1/2 in difference. I was thinking it was a weak coil spring so I bought a brand new set and installed them. Now the car still sags on the passenger side. Any other ideas as to what I should check next??
Thanks for any input!!

Bad spring? there not that expensive for stock replacements. a bad spring on the front would also cause the rear to squat as well and also the opposite. rears is easy to change. like $100 for both rears in MOOG brand.

hmm mabe. the rears are weaker than the fronts so mebe if the car is trying to set the weight of the car on the back spring its compressing more?
Did you make shure you have either both spring isolators out or in? that rubber piece is like 1.5 inches thick. did you pull the old ones both out? mabe 1 of them was still stuck up in the spring hole.

Yeah when I took the old springs out both rubber pieces fell out and I put them both back in when I put the new springs in. Should I have bought new rubber pieces too?? The old ones were in real good shape.

If it were body twist his engine would have to turn in reverse to the pass side rear down, Plus it would have broken LOTs of stuff like all the glass in the car if it bent that much.
the pass. rear is sagging appx 1/2 in. same thing with my 86 iroc. i think my problem is body flex.... i have no broken glass etc.... i've swapped the springs with one's out of a 88 iroc... same height. i've swapped pass and drivers side. still the same height. you have to love the unibody. 1/2" isn't much. i've got an 03 silverado 1/2 ton 2wd. sagged appx 3/4 inch in left front. gm has a bulletin for it. the fix? add up to 2 spring rubbers and realign. lol.....NO BROKEN GLASS ON THE SILVERADO EITHER!!!!!! praise the LORD!

I am thinking its my front passenger side coil spring because there were some of them coil spring spacers in it. With them in the front spring it was off 1/4 in but after I took them out it is now off 3/4 in. So I am gonna try the front springs.
check your sway bar endlinks and center bushings. if they are broken or really worn it will cause a sag like that, and if it not the endlinks replace the shocks and struts. a worn one will cause a sag to. i had a rear endlink brake on me and didnt know it till i noticed that side was sagging pretty bad. and if the endlinks are new but not tightened the same it will cause a sag to. they have to be WAY off though to really notice.

What's a sway bar, and what are endlinks?
My '88 Formule hangs to the drivers side..!!
I'm thinking of replacing the old WS-6 springs with new Vogtland lowering springs.

Thanks! The endlinks look good but the center bushings are pretty worn looking. I may have to look into replacing those.
Yeah the shocks and struts are on my list also.
