torque arm angle

for a stock suspension car, what is considered a good range for the angle setting of an adjustable torque arm?

an adjustable tq arm doesn't adjust the angle of the tq arm, it allows for adjustment of pinion angle. - usually 2-3 degress down pinion for an auto car, 3-4 for a stick(I actually run 6). - You have to measure the angle of the driveshaft, then subtract the angle of the pinion for this number.
what is the effect of more or less degrees?
when you take-off, the rear tries to turn upwards in the front. This is cause by the pinion gear trying to turn the tires, thus trying to "climb" the ring gear. Thus, buy running the pinion down angle, it trys to square up with the ds. The greater then angle, the harder the engine will "throw" the diff down(to square it), thus planting the rear tires. Too much angle, the rear hits to hard, rebounds, spins the tires. - Too much angle also wears out u-joints faster.

6!!! that is impressive. Is that a all out drag car. I don't know anything about angle exept how to set it with my sphoon arm. The instructions say to stay at 0 for stock and no more than 3, ever. I trusted the instructoins and set mine at 1.5 around there.

But I shouldn't input just yet, My car is not on the road yet.

thats exactly what I thought. I tried to set mine to -1 and I think it is, but it might have moved a bit as i was trying to view the angle finder. I am rounding up when I say 1.5. Either way, I am not gonna go more than that ever. I am setting it and leaving it like that.

That is a real crowd pleaser in a short wheelbase stick shift car.

Street car on 17's, but not daily driven. I did state, and do agree, that by running that much pinion angle it is harder on u-joints, but I don't mind changing u-joints in trade for the traction I gained. - As I stated, more is not neccessarily better, but 6 is what works good for my combo.

HAA - I know what you mean, but no, not in my case. - 4001 lbs w/o me in it, on 17" DR's. - I get 1.66-1.69 60's consistent, but it just barely lifts the front tires.

- the car is currently apart going through a major rebuild/redesign. It will no longer be daily driven, but it be driven once or twice a week, will go on Power Tour, and hopefully be fast enough for drag week. All still on 17's........

how are those drag radials on the street? I have some used Viper tires on my car now... Granted I have not driven my car yet... I am gonna need to go down to 315s when I get new tires. These 335s bubble too much. I wanna start figuring out what a good wide tire is... I REALLY love the look of the Michellin pilots but they are super pricey. Not that I mind that much, just means I have to wait a little longer.
