ahhh...finally installed konis and 12" brakes

Whew!! What a week. But I got the new ls1 12" brakes on the front along with koni reds all the way around. The koni's and the eibach prokit is a good match. MUCH more civil and less off an ***-pounder / kidney puncher than it was with the same springs and kyb shock/strut.

To give you an example, I compared the rear shocks. While standing I could lean on the KYB's and theyd depress fairly easily (un-attached, that is). With the Koni's I had to lean my weight on them and push pretty hard just to get them to start to depress. WOW! What a difference.

The brakes are much sharper now and responsive, just like the handling. Man Ive been waiting for big brakes and koni's since i got my car about 4 yrs ago.

I am always amazed at just how great these cars can be with aftermarket replacement pieces and general maintence of wear and tear parts.

And I still have a poly transmission mount to install along with a BMR tubular torque arm!!!

Amen brother. I went with the Yellow koni's and it is amazing how you can have much much more damping and the ride is so much better. It was hard to suck it up and spend it but the $680 for the Koni Yellows was probably the best money that I have spent on the car. The car is so much better at the track as well. All around it is great.

So here's the question, what do you guys both think of the koni's as a daily driver shock for bumps and ruts?

I'm asking their opinion of what they'd be like to use on a daily driver.

sorry, been busy latey and couldnt get back to your question. Um, I talked to steve spohn when I bought them. I was going to go with the yellow's but he said that they'd probably be too harsh for the street. He also said that the eibach springs and the koni reds were well matched and would be good for the street.

I live in a town with crappy streets. The streets are still crappy, but the koni red's have soften'd the blow. The car is way tighter now and feels much better. I love them.

I am comfortable using the Koni yellows as a daily driver. I could be wrong, but I believe the Reds and Yellows have some over-lap in their dampening characteristics. The most aggressive setting on the Reds is slightly more aggressive than the lowest setting on the Yellows. I recomend the Yellows.

I have the yellows on mine. Rear only, but they are much better than the ones that were on it. They are a bit much for the Pro-kit, IMO. I want some stiffer springs for mine once I get the front Yellows.
Mine is a DD, by the way.

You could do either. So far I like the Yellow's on the softest setting for the street. It is so much better than it was before with the cheap struts and original bilsteen rears. If you go to track days you might want the yellows. If you don't, get the reds. So far I feel like the yellows can go way stiffer than I need, but I might want it when they start to wear. Not sure.
