Need some opinions please.

So the time has come to replace the factory suspension on my Camaro, and Im having a hard time choosing which path to go down.

1) Air Ride "Cool Ride" package. Pretty self explainatory, super expensive, nice ride, nice handling, the whole deal. Then some sort of adjustable shocks.

2) Either an Eibach Pro Kit, or some other lowering springs. And adjustable shocks, and with the left over money from NOT buying Air Ride I could get an adjustable pan hard rod and some other odds and ends, like subframe connectors.

What is everyone's take on this?

I guess it depends on what you want to do with your car.. If I had $$ in hand, I would go for choice #2. Air ride is sweet stuff, but I would use it for a different car, like a cruiser...

yea, option #2.
SFC's should be first priority, before even really thinking about suspension upgrades really.

Air ride will increase your handling over a worn out stock suspension, it will NOT outperform a well setup spring and shock setup. Save your money and do what every race car on the planet does and use a conventional spring and shock.

which car... I am all race ready man myself... but if I had that convertible I would think hard about the air ride for a few reasons...one: air ride.convertible.camaro. two:the car will be worth more three: that's just pimp

I agree with Sonix, SFCs should be the very first thing you do to any 3rd gen. I made the mistake of upgradeing some other things first. Then I put the SFCs in. The SFCs def made the most improvement.

Well I know I'm gonna get the SFC's sometime, but like the old suspension is really bouncy and squeeks and crap...it's seen better days

I have every posible mod done to the suspention in my 85 t/a I have the eibach pro kit, with kyb fully adjustable front and rear shocks, billit alum strut tower caster camber plates , tubular front k and a arms, polly urithain bushings in everything that moves, spoon adjustable torqe arm ,tubular lower rear control arms, tubular adjustable panhard, weld in subframes, ( and a 10 pt cage. Though not a suspention mod still made the car much more rigid) I think thats it. Now to my point, thoughth all this stuff makes the car handle like its on rails, it rides like a, well race car, stiff and rigid. even with the struts set to the 2nd softest setting. great for handling performace but such for streat use. I think subframes are a must, I tisted my b piller at the rear of the driver side t top. I think if you have the money go for the air ride, ive herd so many good things. and the ride is beautifull. keep us posted on what you use.

I second the SFC comment...do those first so you can take full advantage over any other improvement you make. SFCs first. I have Spohn SFCs and the Pro Kit and it's a GREAT ride and handles like crazy.

Glad to help...

I used GYB GR-2s up front and Gas A Just on the rear as they are supposed to be a "matched set" but I should have dropped another #250-300 for Bilsteins while I was in there.. I just got too good of a deal to pass these up.
