You have a badd *** looking car man... good job...i bought spohn sfc for my 91 z28 drop because that was the only company that i could find that made sfc for a convertible... i know that theres probably more companies out there but that was the first one that i came across...did you paint your car or is that the stock paint.

Thanks, man!
It is painted, aftermarket. When I got iy, it was plain (yellowed) white with a LeBra. I added the spoiler, hood, replaced the front bumper and GFX.... only to have the GFX cracked by a cat that ran in front of me and then ran back onto the road. Before that, the bumper was scratched (deep) while my dad was guiding me into the shop to line up my fog lights. He was watching the driver's side, and didn't think about the lift point on the machinery on the passenger side (which I could not see).

Yea, Spohn makes good stuff, and I ussually go with them on my purchases, but I've seen the UMIs. They just seem stronger.

Ok. Thanks, Blythe. I'll look into that.

Awesome. I was going to go with Spohn, but with the GP 15% off... I like. I just hope I can get in one on. They look a bit beefier too. Probably going with UMIs road course k-member as well. A GP in mid summer would ROCK!

I have umi's sfcs. They are great. I dont know about strength between the two, Spohn's are probably a bit more rigid. But UMI's have better welding points than the spohns.

Spohn's dont give you tabs so you have small welding points. UMI's tabs allows you to have weld beads up to 6-7 inchs long on each tab. They have better mounting on the rear control arm area aswell.

Spohn do fit closer to the body though, allowing you to stitch weld along the rocker seam. But the last time I read something about that on here, the welds made stress cracks up the rocker seam on the guys car so I wouldn't do that if you get them.

My thoughts on the two.

Ok, cool. Thanks guys. I'm thinking with this info, I might get the Spohns. My Dad is a great welder, so I'm not worried too much about that. Plus, if they are stiffer (and they seem that they would be lighter) that would be a bonus.. Now, if I can convince my dad to weld them.....

Nice cars, btw. Love the C5s on the Z28. I'm hoping to get C6s.
