Swaying while driving... need wonder bar?
My car is sorta weird. While driving normally, it sways to the right and left alot while just trying to keep it straight. However, when you go fast it is glues to the road. I am wondering if I purchase a wonderbar (UMI of course) if it would help reduce this swerving? I have a very thick front and rear sway bar. SFC's, tubular Lower control arms, prothane links... etc...
Just figure I would throw this out there to see if someone has the same problem?

As you know, the wonderbar braces the forward frame rails together to reduce stress applied by the steering box that can cause cracking. If your frame rail where the box mounts is not cracked, you shouldn't notice a difference with the wonderbar. I have a Global West bar on the camaro, priced well for a strong, tubular piece.
Is your issue an over-center tracking issue-constant slight corrections while going straight (steering box/linkage)? When you say it's ok going fast do you mean in a turn/curve (steering box off-center)?

Okay get this, you are driving straight, going at a speed of around 45 mph. You try and keep the car dead center, but the car as a tendacy to lean toward the left or right.
So you get up on it, 65 mph, car is straight as an arrow stays exactly where you put it.
Now while cornering, the car is very stable and stiff.
First things I think of, front end alignment? No premature tire wear.
Struts not working hard enough?
Springs old and saggy?
Whatever it is, it is not right, I know it is not much info but it is the best way I could discribe it.

I would imagine your not used to driving an old style steering box.All cars with this type of steering does it to some extent.I wish GM had put rack and pinion on them.Even my 85 mini van has rack and pinion.GM should have put them on these. It's my only gripe about these cars.

I think your front end alignment could be off *a tad*.
Or, probably more likely, steering box needs adjustment or replacement. No need for aftermarket parts just to get factory performance, I wouldn't settle for a car you have to "herd" down the road. I'm probably going to replace my steering box to fix this issue on mine.

Well I am used to driving a 2001 dodge ram.... I recently gave that to my wife as her daily driver and now my formula is my daily grind. So maybe I am just too used to a newer car?
However, on the flip side, my 88 firebird sorta felt the same as my formula, so maybe it is because of the old steering box...
I knew I should have got a fox body... at least they do have rack and pinion...
but... on a lighter note at least we have 5 lugs lol
