Spohn A-Arm Guys

After doing research on this board, I'm on the fence about purchasing: Some members reported that the a-arms lowered their cars, another that breakage occurred. Should I be concerned with these accounts or should I bite the bullet and lay down my hard-earned cash? The car is only street driven, should that make any difference.

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

Here is a pic of my car with the spohn a arms and the Eibach Pro-Kit springs (1" drop). The front of my car is basically slammed which might be partly because of the a arms. If you notice my rear sits way higher than the front, which I'm hoping will settle down after some driving. I couldn't even imagine what it would look like if I had the sport lines or something similar that provides more drop.

For some reason the pic didn't load. I'd be happy to email you a pic if you want.

What did you use for bump stops?

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

I used bump stops that slide over the strut shaft like on a coil over type setup. I thought about mounting the bump stop on the K member but this was so much easier and will work just as good.

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

Global West makes the bump stops and they are 24mm in size. Works like a charm.

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

Did any of you have trouble installing your Spohn A Arms? Were you installing the ones with perches for springs or coilovers? Did you use internal spring compressors etc?

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

I wish I had seen this thread before I bought my a-arms, cause now I am getting a bit worried. I have Spohn's tubular k-member, fabricated upper strut mounts, tokico illuminas, sportlines and Spohn's tubular a-arms.

I haven't even assembled my front end stuff yet, but I will post up pictures as soon as I get the front end back together and the car off jackstands. I just hope the front end isn't slammed too much, otherwise I'll probably have to sell the sportlines and get different springs.

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

I called Spohn a few weeks ago and ordered the a arms with spring perches. I specifically asked about the perches and they told me they have been redesigned not to lower the vehicle.

Anyways, I'll guess I'll find out when I install them in 2 weeks.

Re: Spohn A-Arm Guys

After all that I've read, I decided against them.
