Which lcarb`s

I`ve searched and not found what I`m looking for.I`m actually more confused now than I was before.Weld in or bolt in?UMI,Spohn or whatever brand.I read and figured weld ins would be better, but after reading about dog trotting, improper mounting and trying to find a place around here to install them CORRECTLY at a decent price,I was thinking about the bolt ins and maybe have them welded in after instalation. Are the bolt ins reliable as far as being the correct way to install them and then welding? Thanks

Re: Which lcarb`s

for the LCA relocation brackets, you just jack up the rear on a lift and lower one control arm and install the bracket then put the LCA in the lowest hole then weld in the bracket. That will keep the dog trotting to a minimum. Then you repeat for the other side, if it happens to be even slightly off it's not something you'd probably notice, although I run adjustable LCAs so they could be adjusted on an alignment rack if for some reason you had that issue which 99.99% of people i'm sure don't.

Sorry,I`m refering to the lower control arm brackets. Not the sub frames.Even though your answer helped for when I`m ready to get subframes,I`m looking now to help lower 60" times and hook up better.I`m puttin some drag radials on layaway and would like to have the brackets on before iget them out in a few weeks.Thanks.

Re: Which lcarb`s

Yea, bolt ins are bad because they can wallow out the bolt holes over time. It's just not a very permanent solution. Weld ins very rarely have any problems, i've only heard one time about someone saying it can happen - not a lot of evidence of it. Go for that and don't look back.

Re: Which lcarb`s

Whats nice about the bolt in are that you can install them yourself, then take the car to a welder and just have him welded on.

I installed UMI's bolt ins on my car, I'll have them welded on the 4th gen rear when I get it on my car.

Re: Which lcarb`s

So krisb410,you havent had any problems out of the bolt ins?I was thinking about getting those and haveing them welded. How much do you drive the car?Any track time or hard driving?Any holes walowing out or anything?

Re: Which lcarb`s

No problems from them yet, but I just installed them. I drive the car everyday, sometimes pretty hard. I am doing a 4th gen rear swap in the next couple of weeks, so I'll have them welded on that rear.
