next mod, chassis or rear?

i know this isnt totally suspension or chassis related but my focus is handling so i thought this would be a good place to ask

my next planned upgrades were 3.42 gears with a posi(like an eaton unit) and stornger axles(28 spline), jegster torque arm, and lca relocation brackets. i can not afford to do all these at once though. which would give me the most benefit?

also i have subframe connectors sitting in my basement, i tried to install them once but found that my stock y pipe is in the way. i was thinnking i could make a custom true dual system that dumps before the axle and install my subframe conenctors, but id need the jegster torque arm in order to run an x pipe with good clearance.

im just not sure what to do first, thanks!

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

I think that getting the SFCs in would be a good idea; but what brand are they? Why don't you sell them and order a set that'll fit the exhaust?

SFC's are the best and first thing you should do. They will prevent your car from twisting itself up if your engine is making any power and your able to get it to the ground. All the other stuff you've got listed is gonna give you better traction so do the SFC'c first. After I did mine I noticed a huge difference in the handling and feel of my car.

Like the guys mentioned, install the SFC's. On a side note: I have no personal experience with true duals, but given the ground-clearance issues with our cars, I'd think that they might be more trouble than they're worth

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

the sfc's are the jegster bolt in units. they will fit with the stock y pipe, but the y pipe has to be loosened or moved out of the way to bolt them up. then replaced.

im not running rear seats in my car , so im going to do some floor modification to fit mufflers where the rear seat used to be. i have access to a welder and lift, so i figured id give it a shot. i just hate how mustangs sound so good with their damn true duals. and i want my car to sound different than every other f body out there. and if the dual exhaust doesnt have enough clearance ill go back to a single 3", it will be a learning experiance im sure.

either way ill get my sfc's in.

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

You don't want to run the bolt-ins for any more than you have to. The bolts holes wear bigger and the SFCs get loose. Weld them in or get some Spohns or the like.

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

i have the jegster torque arm, bolt in subframes that we welded right away along with true duals. Feel free to check it out sometime or whatever. The subframes should fit right in, I believe on another car that came into my old buddies shop we just put a jack on the subframes to wedge them around the y-pipe momentarily.

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

has anybody used the UMI bolt in relocation brackets? are they strong enough for tough use like auto-x, could i bolt them and weld them?

Re: next mod, chassis or rear?

UMI relo-brackets are more than enough for Auto-X. I have a set waiting to go on my new rear and one of my buddies is currently using them and they work perfectly. I recommend them to anyone. If you do buy the bolt on set, make sure you get them welded up for added strength.
