The fronts will need spacers to use 4th gen wheels.

Re: 4th gen front wheels?

The 4th gen rear is now 4" wider than the old one. So the wheels are sticking out an extra 2" on each side. To fit 4th gen wheels on the front you will deffinitely need spacers. Skute.com has lots of info on this.

Re: 4th gen front wheels?

I have an '87 IROCZ with 16"x8.0" wheels, stock. I upgraded to the 1LE brake package. Now I purchased 17x9.5" 4th gen wheels with 54mm offset. I have 1.75" adapters (not spacers) on the front for these wheels. However, I did not like how close the wheel flange comes to the ball joints, so I added a 1/8" spacer. If you have factory disc brakes on the '86, then you most likely need 2.0" adapters on the front.

BTW: factory 17x9.5" wheels 4th gen wheels have 50mm of offset.

Re: 4th gen front wheels?

So I take it 4th gen bolt pattern is 5x4.75 also? or it just a close match in mm?
