Traction with a lowered car vs stock (both with suspension mods)?
Got a quick question if you don't mind. Let's say you have two IROCs. Both 100% identical. Accept one is stock ride height with aftermarket lower control arms and relocation brackets. And the other one has Eibach Pro-Kit Springs with lower control arms and relocation brackets. Which do you think would get better traction?

I am no expert, but I would think the lowered car (with proper adjustment of suspension components) would hook better because of the lower center of gravity.
I know my car hooks better now that it is lowered.

I currently have sportline springs in my car, but not for long. I have grown tired of the incorrect steering/suspension geometry on the front so I have bell tech drop spindles and matching track springs ready to install on my car, along with new C5 corvette brakes.

typically lowered offers less weight transfer

better traction for a drag style launch, or better traction for handling/braking?
really, for a drag launch its irrlevent if the car is setup properly...
however most people dont have it setup properly, so the higher CG allows more weight transfer and therefore better traction.
for handling, the lowered car has less weight transfer, so the inside tires on the turn, or the rear wheels during braking, have more traction then otherwise....

go to a full slick, the rinkle wall will help alot, thats what I am going to do, my car is lower and have it set up to drive an the street, so when I go to the track the fulll slicks will help with out sufering on the handling

Re: Traction with a lowered car vs stock (both with suspension mods)?
Thanks for the replies guys. Right now I have stock suspension and I can do some pretty damn hard launches on the street (have 2.77's though). I just got in on the UMI GP and ordered LCA's and relocation brackets. But in the future I wanted to throw pro kit springs on there and was just wondering.
Thanks guys

Re: Traction with a lowered car vs stock (both with suspension mods)?
straight line wise, if the suspension is tuned properly the lowered car should out hook the factory, as these cars need the lca relocates factory for straight line traction.
The 2.77 gear is actually harder to hook on street tires. Street tires do not hook, they're controlled spin. Higher(numerically lower) gears will try to bring wheel speed up faster, thus tend to be harder to control.
