EVERYTHING WAS PROPERLY GREASED AND TIGHTENED, I REGREASED IT THE OTHER DAY AND THE POPPING STOPPED BUT HAS COME BACK. IM PULLING MY HAIR OUT ON THIS IM GOING TO GO BACK OVER ALL MY NUTS AND BOLTS BUT IF ANYONE HAS AHD THIS PROBLEM ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I HAVE BEEN READING SOME OTHER POSTS HERE AND WAS WONDERING I HAVE POLY SWAY BAR LINKS IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THEY ARE CAUSING TH PROBLEM? ALSO I HAVE NOT REPLACED THE STRUT MOUNTS AND THE CAR HAS 165K ON IT COULD EITHER OF THESE BE THE CULPRIT? ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME THANKS.

Re: POPPING
I had similar popping noises before, I replaced the upper strut mounts and lower ball joints, noises went away.

Re: POPPING
Sorry bout the caps lock, thanks ill check the mounts and it is low speed turning and low speed braking as well, like when you are pulling into a parking spot.

Re: POPPING
I have that same problem that happens to my 92 RS from time to time... I've put new strut mounts, new struts, lower ball joints, and rebuilt the entire front steering linkage and it still does it on hard turns (low speed-- turning in a parking lot or parking the car)... I've talked to some people and they say that its normal.. something about the strut front suspension and its design....
I do have the poly bushings on my sway bar and had the bushings replaced in the A-arms last year as well... those are still the regular bushings tho...

I have replaced the whole front end.. new steering box, linkage, A-arm bushings, lower ball joints, poly sway bar bushings, strut mounts, struts.. the whole 9 yards...everything is greased and good to go...
I've heard that its just the way that the front end was designed with the struts... my uncle had an 83 L69 car that did the same thing with him..

Re: POPPING
i hope thats not true because i don't want to be stuck with it forever
i'm running a 36mm swaybar with greasable poly and zinc 1le endlinks with a wonderbar. other than that the front is stock. it feels solid and drives straight, i've checked all bolts and greased everything. it happens mostly when i'm backing up and make a hard turn at slow speed.

Re: POPPING
I know its been awhile but i finally got my strut mount on and the popping went away about 85%. I replaced the left side cause i thought thats where the noise was primarily coming from. Well now i have a small popping noise coming from the right side only when i turn right though not when i brake and turn like before thanks to all for the input. Oh and i also got me tds wonderbar MAN what a difference that thing made i was amazed how it tightened up the front end cant wait to put it in some real curves might have to make a trip to the mountains in a couple weeks.
