I'm running Sportlines with AGX 4 way adjustments in the front, and 8 way in the rear. I have never heard of AGX twin tubes? As for the ride... Very firm and Im on 3 in the front and 5 in the back.

Your AGX's are twin tube shocks.

AGX and sportlines are about a common of a modification as it comes. Its been done a thousnad times. It is a generic package upgrade. The sportlines are designed to actually use the factory bumpstops to ride on- this is not good, but the design and rates depend that you leave them on and rely on them for holding the car up. the rates are way too soft for a lowered spring.

The best quality shocks you can buy are monotube design. Twin tube, even though it sounds more impressive, are less expensive to make and the valving quality is inferior. They are a less expensive shock to purchase as a result of these facts.

My advice is don't get them. Save some extra money and get something stiffer than Sportlines (the Pro-Kit is better in that department) and KONIs.

Re: kyb agx and sportlines???

Welcome to the board.

The combo you are looking at while inexpensive may not provide the ride you want.

Sportlines are a very soft spring. If you are set on Eiback try the pro. Or try intrax for a 2" drop (summit or jegs).

Monotube shocks will provide a better ride quality than twins. Koni does make an excellent shock.

Best to save you money and do it right the first time.

Good Luck.

Re: kyb agx and sportlines???

Monroe would be a worse choice than the KYBs. I had them on my ProKit when I first installed it, and they were dead in a matter of months.

Re: kyb agx and sportlines???

Monroe and Gabriel are not designed to be a performance shock; 91_5.7_TPI is correct, putting those on an lowered car would just be a waste of money. The shocks are designed for ride quality, not performance handling. The most common third gen shocks built for performance include kyb, koni, bilstein, and the newcomer tokico. The concensus seems to be that agx's are a pretty good shock for the price, though using them on a lowered car will drasticly reduce shock life negating the price saving by using the agx's. If you really want to use lowering springs better save up and get the other brands.

Cheers!!

Re: kyb agx and sportlines???

i have sportlines on my 2000 track car and i used to have kyb's i broke the kybs the first time i took the car out to the track. i changed to an adj koni and have not had a problem since. the ride is much better when your off the track and the shock is a lot easier to adjust when your at the track. as they are adjustable at the top of each shock and strut. i asked my dentist for one of those dental mirrors so i could check the settings on the kyb which was a major pain in the butt, and unless your a contortionist, you have to jack the car up to make any setting changes, and with a car on sportlines, it means a pain in the neck. i had to drive up on 2x12 to get the car high enough to get my low profile jack underneath.
