Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

just got my rims in, bogart rt welded 15 x 10 (7'' bs) in rear mounted them on 28 x 10.5 mickey thompson slicks and have a lot of clearance issues. so much so that the shop where my car is told my that I need a mini tub to make them work. ive read about alot of guys here running a 10'' rim out back without a problem so i dont know what to do.also whats actually rubbing the most is the sidewall of the tire.

Re: Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

Problem is you got the wrong backspace if you didn't want to do any major sheetmetal changes. Us guys using the 15x10 usually have a 5.5 backspace.

Re: Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

Sure you can use those. All you need to do is put a fourth gen diff under your car and they'll fit fine.

Your other option is to sell them for some rims with 5.5" backspacing.

Re: Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

the reason i got them with 7''bs is that the shop told me thats what i would need to keep them tucked in the fender as apposed to having them stick out.does that make sense to you guys?

Re: Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

15 x 10 with 5.5 backspace tucks under third gen fenders fine. Since the shop recommended that size and it's wrong, they should cover the cost to get the proper ones.

Before I back halved my car, I ran 15 x 10 with 5.5" backspace for many years with different tire sizes.

I can't remember the size of my old Goodyear tires. I'm guessing 28 x 10.

With the MT tires, they were 29.5 x 10.5 but fender modifications were required to get them to fit.

The Hoosiers were 27.5 x 9

All 3 fit under the fenders.

I'm now at 32 x 14

15x10 5.5 backspace with a 28x9 Hoosier slick, no mods at all to make them fit. The sidewall bulge is just about even with the fender lip. I'll have to take some new pictures since the car has been painted finally.

Nope, I haven't done a single change to the sheet metal around the wheels. It's the same shape as it was when it left the Van Nuys factory.

1. I WOULD START LOOKIN FOR A NEW SHOP TO HELP ME. Those Bogarts are not cheap. most shops that deal with 3rd gens know that a 7in bs won,t fit under our cars. Sure hope they didn,t offer to take em off ur hands for 1/2 price, or trade u some old draglites that will fit for those Bogarts.2. Always check with guys that have a car like urs. Or check the forums. There are always guys out there, with the set up ur lookin for that will steer u in the right direction. just my 2cents.

Dirty car but finally an updated pic with the pro stars on it. The sidewall buldge on these tires are a little past the fender lip. Haven't measured what the section width is yet but it was listed as 11.25 inches if I remember right.

EvilCartman, what size tire are you running up front? It looks like your cars sits pretty level.

26 x 4.5 Moroso DS2 Summit's part number MOR-17026. With my regular street tires (26in all around) the front sits just a little higher due to all the weight loss up front.

8" rear rim can use 5.5bs or 4.5bs it's up to you. As for the front 3.5 and 4" rims only come in 1 backspace option from weld.

Re: Need help fitting 15 x 10 bogarts!!!

This is really not that complicated. Factory rear offsets are between ˝” (15x7” rims, they actually measure closer to 3/8”) and 7/8” (factory 16x8’s, they’re supposed to be 5/8”, but measure more like 7/8”), and the factory 16x8’s are 0 offset. Just pick which you want your wheels/tires to fit like and then use that offset (look it up on summit’s site, look up American racing’s conversion chart or learn to do the math.

WRT to this particular thread, most people are running 0 offset/5.5” backspacing with 10” rims, which I think sticks out a little too much, so I like something more like ˝” offset/6” backspacing (I have 15x9’s with a ˝” offset/5.5”backspacing).

To make the 7” backspacing wheel fit right, you’ll need a 1 to 1.5” spacer.
