i need to see some 15's
hello my names gus i need some help with my car. 1st off i dont have a 3rd gen f body but i am building a 80 model pontiac sunbird H body street strip car. single turbo blow through 4.3 v6! anyway i want to keep the car looking like a pontiac so i took off the weld draglites and im in the process of installing a set of 84-85? trans am firebird alum wheels. 15x7 5 spoke "twisted fan" i call em.. i set one on the car (orange car) and it looks badass! anyway ive 235 60 15 on 7 inch weld wheels now so the rear tire is taken care of. but the front i cant find a 225/55 15 tire! i know the used to make them?! anyone have a pic of a 3rd gen with 235 60 rear and 225 55 front? and/or what about 215/60's on the front? the rear is 26.1 dia and 9.5 section width. a 215/60 should be 25.0 dia and 9.0 section width. help me with these front tires? arrrghhhh!
Re: i need to see some 15's
thanks! im doing a custom cowl hood for it too. "4.3 litre" script on the side! im even half tempted to get some stock valve covers and do pontiac decals on them. the 4.3 gm corperate engine was available in some late g body pontiacs.

You can get the silver center caps from Ames Performance Engineering. They are pontiac nuts and sell repop center caps in silver and black. Search the net for them and you'll find their catalog.
My 90 V6 bird came with those "salad shooter" wheels and 215/65 15 tires when it was new. I honestly think you are better off with the 235/60 15s if they don't rub.

thanks for the input... id love 235s on the front but they will rub bad without question! my buddy had one of these cars back in the day with 15x7 fronts and 225 55 15's and barely rubbed lock to lock.. that would be acceptable i guess. i think im going to look into 215 60's i want the fronts a lil shorter dia than the rears.. im having a hard time seeing the 215's on the front of a 3rd gen bird!
