any1 know where i can find a pair of these poly type 36mm sway bar bushings? i have orderd them thru hawksgen.and it has been 14days and still they dont have them, so im gunna cancel. if i can find a place that does sell them

I went to autozone, and pepboys. Pepboys didnt have any bushings for my car in stock. Autozone, had all the way up to 34mm, in rubber. but I told them I need the 36mm and wanted poly. They told me these cars never came 36mm from the factory. So I went home and just put the pieces of the broken one back in the bracket.

So is 1 7/16 the same as 36mm? Is the silverado bushing the same size? Because if so, I can ask for one for the truck then and it will fit.

I didn't, really; I just looked it up by size. That just accidentally happens to be the vehicle that it happens to be listed for, I guess.

So yeah if the other guys have em for $20, maybe that's the place to get em.Real close. Plenty close enough.

 

I just decided to check lol. Its 36.5125mm so that would be .5125mm bigger than needed. Or .25625mm all the way around.

That kind of slack might be liable to run you off the road from body roll

 

The autozone that you went to must have a bunch of dumb people working there, at my autozone, 36mm poly bushings are in the energy suspension catalog and they are $22 I believe. I will check tomorrow when I go over there. People don't realize that since autozone's restructuring, autozone is now able to get everything from nitrous to gas caps for 77 MG MGB'S with in 3 days or so! Alot of what you can order is not online, when you go into autozone, find a person wearing a grey shirt, not a red one. If you don't see a grey shirt, tell a red shirt that you would like to speak with a "PSM". These people are the parts service manager, basically second in command to the store manager. They are the ones that would know how to look up parts and order from VDP (special order). Hope this helps alot, I am still working at autozone 8 hours a week so I can still get discounts but I noticed that there are alot of dumb people working there. Just PM if you have autozone problems and try to get names and phone numbers of stores and I can work things out.

Well, there are some bump people there but I dont usually have a problem. The thing with me is, I would never in my right mind order something through them. If I needed to order something, I will just go to summit racing and get ti cheaper. How is it working for autozone, I was thinking about applying there?




As for the silverado bushings, will those brackets bolt up to our cars? Because I have like some offset bolt holes for my sway bar brackets.

 

I got mine from Spohn. Greaseable and perfect fit.

My autozone couldnt get them (and i worked there so I know all the tricks ) They were always on vendor back order when I needed them anyway.

All4u... I was a PSM for 3 years and a manager for 1. My store used to have a NICE rack of catalogs that I kept up to date. Because the computer systems blow sometimes. I left, and a month later, the genious that was running the store threw ALL the catalogs away. I had a GREAT crew. Lots of guys that knew what they were doing. We were the best store around as far as knowledge goes. Now the Advance up the street gets more business because there are chuckleheads working there. Do you get discounts on VDP items though? Never did when I was there...but that was 3 years ago.

My best advice for gonig to autozone...Know what you want ahead of time, and have part numbers. Things will go much easier for you.

 

As far as VDP items, you could have a friend order it for you, then put the slip in two days late and then give your friend a courtesy discount or you could use the gun and add the item to the plan o gram and have it shipped to the store for the next truck day. Often times, if a DM gets alot of calls asking why they don't have a certain product, the DM will get it in at every store in his district. As far as applying there, NO! Big friggin mistake. Hours get cut suddenly, they call you at the @$$ crack of dawn to open because someone calls off, and most people that work at autozone don't know what they are seriously talking about. During the training class, they even tell you that you are to tell the customer that you are a sales person and not a mechanic and that you don't know exactly what they need. That sucks but that is the way it is. PSM's for the most part have at least one area of expertise, most are either Japanese or American cars, when a person comes around with a german car, we all scratch our heads. That is more or less how it is. Parts are cheaper than everyone else and customer service is unsurpassed but you will get a bad apple every once in a while.

 

This is crap. Why would I buy the Silverado kit? I don't want Silverado end links. Why can't I just get smaller bushings by 1mm and put them in stock brackets? Why does no one here post tutorials, especially with pictures, so I can see what they're talking about when they say stuff like there is an offset in the stock sway bar bushing bracket?
