Tokico Package Deals?
Hey, I was looking around online, and I found some of the Tokico Package deals for decent prices. I just had a few questions about them:
I found two of them, both with the Tokico 1.25" drop springs, one has Illuminas and one has the HP's. The illumina kit is $566.28 online, and the blue's are like $399 on ebay. Is there a huge difference between the ride quality of the two over rough roads, and how about handling? Also, how is the lifespan.
Also, I was wondering if anybody had tired these kits before?? I read somewhere that if you get them in the package, the shocks are already "re-valved" for the lower springs! I cant believe that is true. Also, how do the springs ride compared to something like the Pro-Kit?
What I am looking for is a combo that will handle as good as factory WS6, but ride a little smoother on rough roads, and last a while on lower springs.
Thanks

Re: Tokico Package Deals?
Thanks! Where did you get yours, and how much, if I might ask??
Also, anybody know about the HP's vs. the Illuminas? If the only difference is adjustability, I would chance it with the Blue's, but if the Illuminas are really better, I might wait and save more.
I know its not gonna ride like a caddy. I dont mind a "firm" ride at all, however I want it to feel "tight" and not like I am loosing parts over every little bump. Basically I want it to ride like my buddies 98SS with the LS1.

Re: Tokico Package Deals?
It's gonna be hard to get a 3rd gen to feel like a 4th gen. The steering is a completely different system, as is the front suspension. You can get the car to feel firm and tight, but you're going to have to go through all the bushings in the car and replace them, as well as the steering box. You'll need new shocks/springs as well, but you already have a handle on that.
I don't have any technical data on the Tokico kits, but you can always contact the manuactuer. I say to save and go with the best kit you can. You'll not regret it down the road.
The feeling of loosing parts is mostly due to the age of the car and design of the uni-body/car. Even with SFCs, it still flexes and will create noise. The car has little to none of the sound deadening that makes the 4th gens quieter (plus the 4th gens have a more rigid design). It's just the nature of the beast.

I'm running the Tokico HP's, great ride quality, lowered with Sportlines, but doesnt ride or feel like a dropped car. The shocks/struts are valved to be used with lowering springs which means that they will outlast and outperform a standard height shock or strut. For the money they are a great investment and you wont be dissapointed.

Re: Tokico Package Deals?
I installed the Tokico Illuminas this spring and dropped the car 2 inches. I have a fully modified suspension minus A-arms and K memeber and I love how the car handles. I am not on the bump stops unless I hit a huge pothole, ect. I daily drive the car and its a nite and day difference over stock WS6 springs/shocks/struts. I say pony up and get the adjustable Illuminas.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if I should get new strut mounts too?

You might as well. The originals are probably shot, and you're going to have to take everything apart anyway.

Re: Tokico Package Deals?
Well, I guess I am gonna have to wait for these a few more months
My car insurance came and it went up $100, and also I spent a few hundred more on gas this month, and the mastercard bill just came... I was excited for like 2 days at least.
I just want the car to ride smooth and quiet like when I bought it last year, thats all. And loose some wheel well gap.
