ls1 diff with 15x10 and 6.5 offset?

I have a buddy that has a set of 15x10 greg welds with a 6.5 offset. Im wondering if they will fit on my thirdgen with a ls1 diff?

I have been lookin on the search engine and everything seems to be either a shorter size wit ha ls1 or a stock rear end.

i believe those will fit perfect as a thirdgen width rear axle requires a 5.5" bs

Thats what im hoping. IO just been to busy to grin the calipers down some to fit them.

Where can i find a tire height calculator. I have 3.42 gears and i wanna know what tire height i should go with.

with 3.42's should probably stick with a 26" slick... but youd be better off switchin to 3.73's and runnin a 28"

15x10 on thirdgen rear is 5.5bs. for 4th gen rear that sticks out farther by near 2 inch per side, you would want around 7-7.5" but 6.5" will work just watch (EDIT for correct info) the outside fender lip clearance. They will stick OUT farther 1 inch

i'm running 15x8 on a 5.5" bs and it fits great with loads of room to spare on the inside. wider will want more backspacing to keep the fit right

Wow...how do you have that much room??? I am running 15x8's w/4.5 BS and a 28x10.50 slick and only have at most 3/4" before I will have to cut the front inner and box it in as most have done that are running 10.5 slicks.

Re: ls1 diff with 15x10 and 6.5 offset?

the tire is a ET street, 26x10.5, its as narrow as a 245/50/16 street tire, if not narrower a 10.5 slick is alot wider

the tire edge is even with fender lip on the outside, and there is 3 1/4" before the tire/rim will hit the LCA relocation bracket and fender well.

you should beable to go 10 inch wide rim and 6.5 " backspacing. I think i was doing this wrong before. If i think this right, 2inches added onto my wheel as is, will be a 15x10 with 5.5+2" = 7.5" backspacing and fit like stock right now

with 6.5" backspacing it will sit out towards fender 1 inch and slightly stick out.

5.5" fits thirdgen rears, and wider 4th gen will force that to stick out 2 inches. so you WANT to have more backspacing or around 7-7.5 to be perfect. 6.5 will give more INNER clearance but take out outter clearance at the fender lip

near 2 inch wider per side, total of 4inch longer overall from rotor to rotor. 98-02's are slightly shorter than 93-97's

Re: ls1 diff with 15x10 and 6.5 offset?

Im running a 15x10 prostar with 6.5 bs on my thirdgen rear. I did have to use a BFH and remove the bump stops but it looks much better with the tires tucked under the quarters IMHO. I dont see any reason why you couldnt use the 6.5 on your 4th gen rear..
