17 x 9.5 tire fitment confirmation
17 x 9.5 tire fitment confirmation
Ok, I've looked at the archives and I just want to be sure before I buy these wheels. The ZR1 17x9.5 will fit my 87 with 2.25 spacers and 275 40 17 on the front and 285 40 17 with 2.00 spacers on the back? Also, who makes the ZR1s specifically for third gen F-bodys? There doesn't seem to be much choice in the aftermarket for modern looking wheels that fit without spacers.

SLP makes (I think they still do?) ZR1 style wheels that fit with no adapters. They have a sweet looking dish to them also, but last I checked they only made 17x8" which pretty much killed it for me. If you get a 4th gen rear (which has many advantages) then you can use a whole plethora of wheels for 4th gen Camaros and most C5/C4 corvettes and only need spacers for the fronts. Besides the extra cost of adapters, there is no disadvantage. They really open up options for wheels.

Re: 17 x 9.5 tire fitment confirmation
I have 17x9.5 +56 ZR1s on my car. I ran a 2" spacer in the rear with 285/40/17s, and 2 1/4" up front with 275/40/17. Now, with my 4th gen rear, I just need to run the spacers up front.

Thanks for the responses, Krisb410, you had not trouble with clearance in the back with 285 40 17? I aslo found that Hawks sells the 17 x 8 wheels with no spacers required for 700 bucks a pop!!

If you'd prefer a different style of wheel, such as AmericanRacing's Torq-Thrust style, OR if you'd rather not get spacers, or both, you can choose a 17X9.5 with a 5.5" backspacing.

No trouble at all, plenty of room on the rear for 285s. Eckler's is $1,080 for 4 chrome ZR1s, or $820 for 4 Hyper Black ZR1s.

Re: 17 x 9.5 tire fitment confirmation
I just bought some used SLP ZR-1 wheels 17x9 (I'm sure they are x9 because I already measured the rim) and I am putting them on an 88 Iroc. I assuming that I will need the 2" and 2 1/4" spacers. Where is a decent place to get these. I have been looking and not having much luck.
