rear end unlevel

Axle/Gears: stock posi
rear end unlevel

i just put new coils and shocks under the rear of my 88 bird. now the pass side sits about an inch higher than the drivers. i switched springs and shocks from side to side still same result. anybody had this problem or any advice on the fix?

Did you put both spring insulators back in?

yea both are in and both coils set in the insulators all the way. someone told me that the position of the end of the coil at the top will affect ride height?

Yep. There is a "step" in the insulator for the end of the coil.

It sounds like one of yours is not properly indexed & sitting correctly.

the coil is all the way in the step. will it make a difference if that step is located to the front or rear of the car?

Not that I know of. It was used as a dampner of noise & to provide a level seating surface, AFAIK.

I guess you could try to index them both to the same point & see if that changes anything. :dunno:

No. As Stephen mentions, is the insulator seated in the pocket correctly? And have your driven the car?
