Re: jegsters

Put the rear end up on stands, and put the front up on ramps. All the suspension must be loaded.

Bolt the rears onto the rear control arm bolts (frame side), and the front where it lines up. You'll need to drill and install the bolts. They come with instructions and bolts when u order them.

When your car is on the ground (driving), its loaded right?

The wheels are up inside the wheel well, and the springs are compressed.

What happens when you jack up the car and place jack stands under the rear end?

Re: jegsters

I wouldnt undo the trailing arms with it up on jack stands. I would put the rears on first, then jack it up, then do the fronts with the suspension loaded.

Re: jegsters

Talk to Matt, or do a search for mw66nova. He has these installed on his car.

I havent installed mine yet. But i thought they would bolt onto the subframe.... Have you gone under and checked it out by lining it up?

Even if you do have to bolt into floor, get the welder to pinch weld along the seam on the side of the car (under the rocker panel area) every few inches. That is the main "frame" of the car, and welding to that will strengthen it.

if you still want to tie it into the front subframe, do what Matt did. He used 1 3/4 in tubing i think, and just welded a peice from the front frame rails to the jegsters.

Re: jegsters

Did any of you that have them installed have to dent up the floor pan? I rember talking to someone at Jegs or reading on here that you have to do that to get them tucked away. I am eather going with the jegsters or alston's if I have to dent up anything I know one I wont go with.

Re: jegsters

iv done them there simple
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...-up-start.html

my car was off the ground a bit and pre-loaded. im sure you could leave the car on the ground and unbolt the LCA bolts that mount to the frame then bolt the SFC there. jack up and support the front then swing them up in place and drill out the wholes (start back to front) ands easy...
