wheel hop??
Re: wheel hop??
My opinion is the weak "U" channel rear LCA may be the cause of the wheel hop. Since I replaced mine with the Spohn tube type, I no longer have that problem. Again it just might be me.
Re: wheel hop??
Wheel hop in simple form is the shocks' in-ability to control the motion of the rear end/suspension. That said, tire compound/pressure, suspension geometry, spring rate, power level and gearing all effect the shocks' leverage to do their job.
To remedy the problem, always start with the simple stuff; these cars are old. New shocks and new bushings go a long way, if you intend to "hot rod" it much then you would be money ahead to look into some aftermarket lower control arms.

Hello
Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets are designed to eliminate wheel hop and give you the adjustments that you need to keep the power to the ground! I just wanted to through that out there. And below is a link to show you what we have to offer. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help!

Re: wheel hop??
If your car sitting on level ground has the LCA's going UP in the back (angled upwards), then you have improper LCA angle, and you need LCA relocation brackets. No amount of other work will solve that, because you're power will force the axle up, and it will hop. You can try to work around it with spring and shocks, but you're fighting a losing battle.
If your LCA's are going DOWN in the back (lower at the back then the front of the LCA), then your angle is correct, and shocks and bushings should be looked at.
